Sadbhavna Manch Nanded Initiative for Harmony: Combating Communal Discord

Nanded: July 22, 2024: a special session was convened at the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind office in Nanded under the auspices of the Nanded Harmony Forum (Sadbhavna Manch Nanded), addressing the recent violence in Vishalgarh. The discussion focused on countering fascism and preserving the unity of Maharashtra. Following the deliberations, a memorandum was presented to Maharashtra's Chief Minister through the district collector, emphasizing the need for communal harmony amidst the recent unrest.

The session saw participation from key figures including Shiv Kamaji Pawar, National President of Maratha Seva Sangh; Datta Tumwade from Satyashodhak Samaj; Hafiz Sheikh Sultan Ashrafi; Ulema Movement, Mr. Abrar Deshmukh, City President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind; Altaf Sani, Editor-in-Chief of Daily Aalami Tahreek; Santosh Shinde representing Bharat Jodo Abhiyan & Nirbhay Bano, Gangadhar Pawar & Narwade Deshmukh from Maratha Seva Sangh; Dr. Zakir Inamdar, District President of Welfare Party of India; S.M. Sameem WPI; Anand Bankar; Sayed Ejaz & Abdul Kadir from Bharatiya Samaj Vibhag; Riaz ul Hasan Amir and Zahid Khan from MDF.

The initiative highlighted that the violence in Vishalgarh is not just an attack on the Muslim community but also a stain on Maharashtra's unity. This concerted effort aims to foster mutual understanding and solidarity among diverse communities in the region.
